[the website]
[youth rights: activism for every generation] is a wiki resource devoted to explaining the foundations of the youth rights movement. It provides an overview of the issues faced by the movement today and the varying perspectives throughout history that influence current social philosophy and political policy when it comes to young people’s rights.
Most philosophy has a worldwide focus; most policy issues have a United States focus. The youth rights movement referred to here applies to the social and civil liberties and protections of people whose youth makes them vulnerable to potential ageism, which usually means those who fall under legal or cultural “ages of majority."
[behind the scenes]
I am an activist who goes by many names on and off the internet. I have been drawn to youth rights theory since I was young enough that most of it directly affected my freedoms and the attitudes I encountered in daily life, and now I do things like this to try to raise awareness of the issues.
Youth rights is just one of my passions; others include gender/sexual minority rights, freedom from internet and print censorship, listening to all the music I can get my hands on, singing and playing guitar badly, begging people to hire me without experience, and spending more free time than I have reading.
I am a child of the wired generation: the internet is where I find inspiration and dissent. Don’t be afraid to hit me up for the sake of justice:
